TVS motors has launched the Apache RTR 180

TVS motors has launched the Apache RTR 180 in India. New  Apache 177.4cc  power is up by 1.9ps to 17.3ps at 8500 rpm(2bhp up on the Apache 160) ,and peak torque of 15.5Nm(2.4Nm up on the Apache 160). It does not feature fuel injection, not yet anyway, but it does feature a bigger carburettor (Mikuni BS-29) and comes with a standard 200 mm rear disc brake. In addition, the bike now sports a 1,326 mm wheelbase, 26 mm more than before, courtesy of a longer swingarm that nestles a 17-inch rear wheel. That is correct – no more oddball wheel sizes for the Apache! It gets a fatter 110/80 at the rear and the same 90/90 front hoop by TVS, both belonging to the tubeless variety. The TVS Apache RTR 180 is priced at Rs. 63,990 (ex-showroom Delhi). TVS Apache RTR 180 will be available in three colours – pearl white, titanium grey and black. TVS claims a top whack of 125 km/hr and a 0-60 kph sprint in 4.15 seconds for the Apache RTR 180 The bike boasts of a digital console with service due reminder, clock, dual trip meter, Forged Brake Lever, Racing GT stripe, Aerodynamic Airscoops,adjustable clip on handlebar and mono tube inverted gas filled shocks. The titanium black engine with engine faring, LED tail lamp, new turn signal lamps, race crouch mirrors, new rear fender and a sound engineered slick silencer give the bike a sporty appeal

TVS Apache RTR Menace 180

180cc version of flagship product apache RTR will be seen on road by mid 2009. Codenamed as the menace, the new apache RTR 180cc would come with few cosmetic upgrades. But what’s more exciting will be the new powerful 180cc engine.

TVS announced earlier that it would introduce the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) in its forthcoming powerful bikes. However the new apache RTR 180cc menace will not have ABS as it will push up the price. The proposed 200cc version of apache RTR might come with ABS.
