43mm Honda Multi-Action System (HMAS) cartridge front fork provides enhanced handling under all riding conditions, while the Pro-Link single HMAS gas-charged shock does the duty at the rear. Ensuring that high speed touring doesn’t leads to backaches.

TATA NANO DIESEL VERSION LAUNCH IN END OF 2009 LIKELY

According to auto industry sources, Tata Motors plans to launch the diesel variant  after the petrol model . Also sounded out Tata Nano dealerships in the country to the launch of the proposed arrival of the Nano diesel. While the petrol engine in the Nano has a 623 cc, the DiCor diesel version is likely to have around 690 cc.  Meanwhile, dealers have said that they are ready for the Nano .

Multiple auto industry sources indicated this version could come with a price tag of Rs 2 lakh, making it the cheapest diesel car. The Tata Indicab, priced at Rs 3.06-3.3 lakh ex-showroom, is currently the cheapest diesel car. Against this, the base variant (without AC) of the petrol Nano will be priced at Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom) and deluxe variants could cost Rs 1.4-1.6 lakh.

If industry sources are to be believed, the Nano diesel would be powered by a 624-cc engine as its petrol counterpart. The company is also looking at higher engine options like a 684cc two-cylinder DiCor diesel engine. The diesel Nano would be available in three versions — basic, deluxe and luxury. The Nano diesel hatchback is likely to offer fuel consumption averages of up to 26 kmpl on highways and 22 kmpl on city drives. While the standard version will come without an AC, the deluxe version will have AC and would be priced a tad higher

Fiat Grande Punto

Developed by Italdesign-Giugiaro along with the Fiat Style Centre, the Grande Punto stands out in the current automotive scene, not only for its size but also for the beauty of its modern elegant exterior lines.

Like the exterior, the interior of the Grande Punto carries forward the essence of Italian styling thanks to the quality of the materials used and the care that went into every detail. It is extremely roomy, with excellent front visibility, easy access and a large luggage compartment.

Available in two body styles internationally, which includes a three door version and a five door version, the Grande Punto for India will be available only in the five door version. Trim levels are yet to be decided for the Indian market, but looking at the Linea, we can expect Fiat to bring in the Active, Dynamic and Emotion versions. The Sport version might have to wait!

First, the Fiat Grande Punto is a hatchback. It is a pretty large hatchback too. It shares its platform with Linea and is quite a looker – the front grille is very Linea-like. It is expected to be priced quite well – between Rs 5 to 6 lakhs – and at that price, it can easily take the battle to the i20, Fabia,  Honda Jazz and the Volkswagen Polo. Fiat has been smart with its prices earlier; and there is no need to doubt that it would be a very attractive buy for someone looking for a spacious large hatch.

The Fiat Grande Punto will come with two engine options: a 1.2 liter petrol, and a 1.3 liter multijet diesel. The petrol Grande Punto will offer 65 bhp, not enough to make it the hottest petrol hatch on Indian roads, but will do.. The 1.3 liter super sweet diesel engine will offer 75 bhp – and great mileage as an appetiser..

The Grande Puntos have people have seen in India have been very good frm the outside – but Fiat has to get the interiors right too. Plastic quality, upholstery and fit and finish have to be just right for the price. The size of the car, excellent luggage capacity, design and engine will be the advantages .The Fiat Grande Punto is a safe car. No one doubts that. However, airbags have been one area where car companies in India choose to cut costs – so we have to wait and see if all versions of the Grande Punto will feature airbags or not. We hope they would be standard in the top end versions, and at least an option in the base version.

Honda Jazz India launch

Honda Siel will unveil its new hatchback model Honda Jazz in the middle of this year. The company will be releasing the premium hatchback car somewhere in the late summer around June-July this year. The Honda Jazz will be the cheapest car in Honda’s Indian portfolio. Honda expects that the launch of a small hatchback car positioned below the all-new Honda City would help its boost sales in India. Small car segment cover two thirds of the sales of cars in India.

Jazz has  four cylinder, 1198 cc state of the art i-VTEC engine that features Programmed Fuel Injection which allows the unit to develop a healthy 90PS @ 6,200 rpm and a decent torque figure of 112Nm @ 4800 rpm. As per ARAI test data, the Jazz is capable of returning a fuel efficiency of 16.1 kmpl, however real world test conditions will give a clearer picture on this front once the car is tested. Like all Honda engines today, the 1.2 i-VTEC unit is also E10 compatible and meets Euro IV emission norms

Tata Motors launches New Range Of Trucks

Tata Motors has launched a range of world standard trucks comprising multi-axle, tractor trailers, tippers, mixers and special application vehicles. Besides India, the range will also be gradually introduced in South Korea, South Africa, the SAARC countries and the Middle East. The powertrain option stretches from 150PS to 560PS, with suitable engines, transmissions and axles of different makes. Additional features on offer include automated transmissions and air suspension. The capacity of the trucks can be from 10 tonnes to 75 tonnes Gross Combination Weight (GCW), to meet a wide mix of usages.

The project has been jointly developed by Tata Motors and its two subsidiaries – Tata Daewoo Commercials Vehicle Co (South Korea) and Tata Motor European Technical Centre (UK). The company has harnessed the best of the inputs in technology, styling, engines, transmission, suspension, chassis, chassis frames, fabrication and dyes from partners based in countries like Italy, Germany, Sweden, the US, Japan and South Korea.

Price is a critical factor in the commercial vehicle segment and the company is keen to keep the prices of its new range as competitive as possible. The world truck will be priced at a premium of 5-10% compared to its existing range, as it will have far more features such as AC cabins

TVS motors has launched the Apache RTR 180

TVS motors has launched the Apache RTR 180 in India. New  Apache 177.4cc  power is up by 1.9ps to 17.3ps at 8500 rpm(2bhp up on the Apache 160) ,and peak torque of 15.5Nm(2.4Nm up on the Apache 160). It does not feature fuel injection, not yet anyway, but it does feature a bigger carburettor (Mikuni BS-29) and comes with a standard 200 mm rear disc brake. In addition, the bike now sports a 1,326 mm wheelbase, 26 mm more than before, courtesy of a longer swingarm that nestles a 17-inch rear wheel. That is correct – no more oddball wheel sizes for the Apache! It gets a fatter 110/80 at the rear and the same 90/90 front hoop by TVS, both belonging to the tubeless variety. The TVS Apache RTR 180 is priced at Rs. 63,990 (ex-showroom Delhi). TVS Apache RTR 180 will be available in three colours – pearl white, titanium grey and black. Premier India has launched the new small SUV Zoyte Rio in three variant – EX, DX, LX. Zoyte is the Chinese company and premier tied up with this company. Rio is less than 4 meter in length and Engine specifications – 1489 cc of displacement turbo diesel engine which generates 65 bhp @ 4000rpm and maximum torque 150nm @2250 rpm.

The base model of Rio EX comes with these features – Air conditioner, Power steering, Power windows, central locking and Music system. And top model LX comes with Remote central locking, Electronic brake distribution, Anti lock brake system, Dual SRS airbags and Alloys. Honda has introduced new CR-V

 

Honda India has put up new CR-V with two new engines – 2.0 liter Petrol and 2.4 liter Petrol . The 2.0 liter engine have 1997cc i-VTEC engine which generates most power 141 bhp @ 6000rpm and maximum torque 192 Nm @ 4200 rpm. And 2.4 liter engine having 2354 cc i-VTEC generate maximum power of 159 bhp @ 5800rpm with maximum torque of 218 Nm @ 4200rpm.

Design and style wise Honda gives in new CR-V two-step front grilles , re-sculpted hood and front bumper , oval shape fog lamps . A new 10 spoke alloy wheel design replacing the previous 7 spoke alloy wheel design .

Talking about interior new Honda CR-V equipped with six airbags, Dual SRS front airbags, Steering mounted audio controls, music system with USB port, LCD meter display in center ,8-way power adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, leather wrapped shift knob and steering. And three more features added in top model of Honda CR-V – Cruise control, Electric sunroof and 5 speed automatic transmission options.

The new Honda CR-V comes in new these two colors – Premium mystic night pearl , Opal sage metallic. And exist colors are also available – Polished Metal, Alabaster Silver, Crystal Black Pearl and Premium White.
